This small group was a request by a gaming buddy for a project of his, Warlord figures, from the left Herr Flick, a Feldgandarme, Infantry guard and evil Nazi scientist Herr Doktor Heinrich von Krippler.

Hi Dougie. I have come to your blog via Sangin, dish dash etc. Great pictures and I am really interested in how you think Sangin plays against CoC? Do you think FS will give a better game? I'm a TFL regular but I think that Fighting Season may be a while away yet and fancy taking the plunge and get some of the beautiful figures available. I've always done WW2/Vietnam in 20mm but not sure, when I see those Empress figures. Whitley Bay means we're almost neighbours - I'm in Alllendale.
Hi Mick, thanks for your comments, from my playing experience with both sets, Sangin and CoC are 2 different levels. Sangin works superbly at ultra low level so fireteams are your units maybe 2 a side, I appreciate you can do platoon actions but they would be very very slow. The cast majority of all the scenarios are at the fire team level. As an example, Compound 17, from the rulebook runs with 3 UK fireteams, 12 figs, and the opposition about the same number. CoC/FS is a great Platoon level game so your manouveur elements are squads or the equivalent. The solution is to play both! If your comtemplating Afganistan go with Empress they are unbeatable, Eureka are very good as well and of course the Radio Dish Dash figures are up there as well. I have both 20mm and 28mm that you can see on the blog. If your in Whitley Bay get in touch for coffee/figures look;)
Hi Dougie, thanks for your thoughts on this. I like the idea if playing both! I already play IABSM in 20mm and have bought CoC, just not played it much. Getting Sangin and some 28mm figures that could then also be used in FS/CoC as well would be a great idea and save on figure costs.. Do you get your empress figs through Fighting 15s? Who does the best 20mm ranges, if I may pick your brains again, please? Thanks for the offer of a coffee. I was in Tynemouth on Saturday! I get over to Blyth for work once or twice a month so I could easily call in. I'll let you know when I'm next coming over and see if it fits in with you. Mick
Mick Empress are through their super fast web site here http://www.empressminiatures.com/index.htm Eureka are either direct from Oz, if your at Salute on the 25th they are attending or through Fighting 15s. In 20mm there is a fairly large choice I've got a mixture of Britannia, Elhiem and Liberation, they'll all come up if you google them. Let me know when you're next in Whitley Bay and we'll meet up! Dougie
