20mm SADF

I painted these troops quite a while ago but noticed that I don't think they're on the blog for some reason. 20mm Liberation figures, I have a platoon of "Troepies" in standard gear with bush hats on usable as 61 Mech or citizen force units
3 man Platoon HQ and 3 squads of 8 men
Close up of the Platoon HQ
One of the squads
As a force multiplier I also knocked out 2 4 man patrols from 32 Battalion Reconnaissance Group.
They required a bit of research and are wearing the 32 Bn specific camo which came in 2 patterns for summer and winter. 32 Bn was mixed race and the 2 white guys are wearing "black is beautiful" face paint.

White Dragon Miniatures 28mm Modern Brits

I saw the new White Dragon Miniatures 28mm Modern Brits at Salute in April and was very impressed with the quality. I already have a full Platoon of Empress Brits so a bought a pack of 4 figures to see what they painted up like. Here's the link to White Dragon Miniatures
The figures are cast in a plastic resin which is very easy to work with.

One of the guys painted up
And a comparison shot with an Empress figure
Slightly more heroic in stature but will mix if you already have Empress.

28mm Brits for Falklands and South Armagh

Recently finished off these 2 MoFo figures, a Sniper and a Radio Operator. The sniper had a telescopic sight added and the barrel altered as well as hessian straps layered on his ghillie suit from green stuff. The radio operator is unaltered except for the addition of an aerial and handset cable. They'll be seeing service down south as well as Armagh.

28mm Spectre Miniatures by Andy Zeck

I've been looking for a painter who can assist me in the lead pile for a while, with regard to Spectre Miniatures. If you're on the Spectre facebook page you'll have seen Andy Zeck's work. I really like the gritty/dirty look he gets to his figures so I eventually sent him 6 of the Tier1 operators for him to work his magic on. They arrived today and I'm very pleased with them, excellent communication throughout the process and exactly what I was hoping for. I can't rate him highly enough, wouldn't hesitate to use him again cracking stuff!

10mm Falklands Brit GPMG SF teams

As the majority of regular readers will know I've been rebasing my 10mm Falklands collection for the modern adaptation of Fire & Fury's "Battlefront WW2" rules. I now have a fully based Para Bn useable as either of the 2 that went down south apart from the Support Company GPMG SF teams.
I've used Pendraken Figures in the past, however Timecast have released a stonking Cold War British range which are ideal, here's the link Timecast Cold War Brits
I picked up a selection at Vapnartak at York in February, GPMG SF teams, Command, CVR(T) and a pack of Wombats.
I already have the Pendraken CVR(T) but the Timecast one is in a different league so they're getting replaced. Wombats? The pack is to convert to Argentine RRs deployed on Longdon.
The Cold War Brits are very nice sculpts wearing correct equipment as well as 44 pattern helmets which are accurate for the period. Being my usual anal self I had to alter the helmet to the Airborne pattern with the aid of a little green stuff. You can hardly notice the difference but if I hadn't altered them it would have got me agitated when I looked at them. The photo below shows the very slight modification. I'll get some photos of the rebased Brits up asap.
