CoC 28mm German Infantry

My son has recently completed a 28mm late war US Airborne Platoon for Chain of Command using the new Empress late war Yanks. He bought me some of the matching German Volksgrenadiers which I 'll be using to make up the platoon. I decided to paint them as Waffen SS, now some of the figures, designed as Army troops, are wearing the hooded M1943 winter tunic which the SS didn't use, I've got round this by painting them as the SS reversible padded winter hooded jacket. I wanted a very late war ad-hoc look to the platoon and I've organised them with a single MG42 per squad.
Anyhoo here's the first squad painted my new quick method of blocking colours in then washing, not as detailed but much quicker ! Dougie

"Ultracombat" by Radio Dish Dash

Radio Dish Dash are the folks behind the "Skirmish Sangin" rules system, now I'm a huge fan of that system as regulars will know, everything about it is well thought out and the publications are superb in layout and design. "Ultracombat" is their new system and it looks very very good. The system is currently on kickstarter and if you are at all interested in modern wargaming you need to be backing this set of rules. Lots of info on the kickstarter and facebook so here's the link get backing!

The War in Chechnya 28mm

Myself and a gaming buddy have started collecting troops for the first Chechen War in 1995 using the excellent figures from Tiny Terrain which are available now they also have a current kickstarter with more sculpts, here's the link Chechen Kickstarter
I'm working on the Chechens and instead of my usual slow method of painting I thought I'd have a bash at speed painting, basically after priming the figures I've blocked the colours in, washed the whole figure then painted the flesh and weapons, much quicker albeit not as detailed.
I wanted to go for a winter urban base which I'm happy enough with. Anyhoo here's some photos let me know what you think. Dougie

28mm M4A3 Sherman

My eldest has been knocking out a late war US platoon for chain of command and asked me to paint up a Sherman for him to support his Empress late war yanks. He picked up the Die Waffenkammer M4A3 and if you haven't seen one of these resin kits they are definately worth looking at, extremely well cast, supplied with stowage and crew, the only thing I needed to add was an aerial.
Construction was very straight forward, and I painted it using my normal long winded method. Photos below, Dougie

Basically I've primed the model, airbrushed olive drab on using modulation, applied a filter, chipping, pin wash, streaking, rust and some spilt fuel stains.
